The Mesmer

a light dynamic painting
2019 | ink on wood panel, RGB LEDs | 12’ x 8’

Reality shifts as naturally as day turns to night.

The Mesmer, hand-painted with ink, is designed to react dramatically with different light frequencies. Its light dynamic properties are rooted in light physics and color theory. As the lights cycle through hues, the painting undergoes constant transformation—an illusion of two separate images transitioning on a single surface. Coupled with the large scale of the installation, the viewer naturally becomes a part of the mural’s transformational flow.

The Mesmer was fully funded by NTXB’s generous art grant initiative.
